Shared expenses Add-on

Shared expenses: take a photo, AI does the rest

The CoParent.ch Expenses module keeps track of the children's costs between two separated parents. You take a photo of the receipt, AI hosted in Switzerland fills in the amount, date and category, the other parent approves it, and the balance between you stays up to date. It is an add-on at CHF 2.- a month.

Add-on at + CHF 2.- a month, included during the 14-day free trial.

Shared expenses Expenses dashboard: monthly total, pending amounts, balance to receive and to pay, 12-month chart and split by category.
New expense with AI scan: drop one or more receipts, the analysis pre-fills the fields for review.

Sound familiar?

The orthodontist's invoice travels as a photo in a message thread. Six weeks later, each of you is sure you paid your share.

With CoParent

You photograph the receipt, the AI fills in the rest, the other parent approves. The balance between you is always up to date.

Everything the Expenses module does

From the receipt you photograph to the settled balance, every expense follows the same path, approved by both parents.

AI receipt scan

Photo or import → the AI reads the document and pre-fills every field. All you have to do is check and approve.

Two-party approval

The co-parent approves or declines (with a reason) before an expense counts. Mark as "settled" once paid.

Balance, stats & export

Dashboard by category, child and status, running balance, CSV/PDF export for taxes or a lawyer.

Pay the balance with a Swiss QR-bill

The parent who is owed money generates a Swiss QR-bill for the month's balance (IBAN encrypted). The other parent scans it in their e-banking app or Twint; the creditor then marks the balance as "paid" in one click.

Smart with health statements

On an insurance statement, the AI extracts your out-of-pocket amount — not the gross total, nor the reimbursed share, nor the premiums.

Split with a slider

A slider from 0 to 100%: each parent's share is calculated live, with their first name on each side.

Multi-page from mobile

Several pages? Photograph them one after another: they are merged into a single PDF receipt.

Currency conversion

Receipt in euros or dollars? The amount is converted to CHF, with the conversion noted.

Manual entry too

Prefer to enter everything yourself? The classic form is still there, with customisable categories and an attachment.

PDF reports

The expense PDF reports

For any period you choose, as PDF or CSV: for your tax return, a mediator, a lawyer or your own accounts.

Expense summary

Over a period: totals by category, by child and by status. Perfect for the tax return.

Balance statement

Who paid what, who owes how much to whom: the net balance between the two parents, calculated for you — and settled in one scan with the built-in Swiss QR-bill.

Expense log

Line-by-line detail: date, amount, category, child, split key and each parent's share.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about shared expenses

How is an expense split between us?

Each expense has its own split, set with a slider from 0 to 100%. Each parent's share is calculated at once, and the running balance shows who owes how much to whom.

What exactly does the AI read on a receipt?

The amount, the date, the child and the category, and then it suggests a description. On a health insurance statement it keeps your out-of-pocket share, not the total. An amount in euros or dollars is converted to CHF. You always check before saving.

Does an expense count without the other parent's agreement?

No. The other parent approves or declines each expense, giving a reason when declining. Only approved expenses count towards the balance.

How do we settle the balance?

The parent who is owed money generates a Swiss QR-bill for the month's balance. The other parent scans it in their e-banking or with TWINT, and the balance is then marked as paid in one click.

How much does the Expenses module cost?

CHF 2.- a month or CHF 20.- a year, on top of the base plan. It is included during the 14-day free trial; you then decide whether to keep it.

Security and privacy

Receipts and amounts are hosted in Switzerland and visible to both parents only. The IBAN used for the QR-bill is encrypted, and receipts are read by an AI hosted in Switzerland.
