Terms of Use
Version 2.1 — takes effect on October 27, 2026
Previous versions remain available above. The version you accepted is available on request from contact@coparent.ch.
Key points
- CoParent is an organisation and calculation tool for separated parents living in Switzerland. It does not settle disputes and does not replace a court decision, an agreement or professional advice.
- One subscription per household: CoParent Agenda at CHF 8.- per month or CHF 80.- per year; Expenses and Documents add-ons at CHF 2.- per month or CHF 20.- per year each. 14-day free trial of the base plan, no card required.
- Automatic renewal; cancel at any time, effective at the end of the paid period, with no refund for the current period.
- PDF reports reproduce the data entered or approved by household members: they are not official documents.
- What happens to your data in each situation (end of trial, cancellation, failed payment, deletion) is summarised in section 13.
1. Purpose, provider and scope
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern the use of the CoParent.ch service (the “Service”), provided by Raphaël Zürcher, Rue de l’Auberge 3A, 1142 Pampigny, Switzerland (the “provider”, “we”). Contact: contact@coparent.ch.
They apply to anyone who creates or joins a household, and to professional partners as far as they are concerned (section 16). The privacy policy describes how personal data is processed.
The Service is intended for people living in Switzerland. By accepting these Terms, each user declares that they live in Switzerland; CoParent does not verify this declaration.
2. Definitions
- Household: the shared space that brings together a family’s members, children and content. One subscription covers one household.
- Owner: the member who created the household, or the member designated by a professional partner when creating it. The owner manages the subscription, add-ons, export and deletion of the household.
- Co-parent: the parent who joins the household by invitation. The co-parent uses the household’s modules but does not manage the subscription, the export or the deletion of the household.
- Read-only guest: a trusted person (for example a mediator) invited to the household, who can view but not edit.
- Payer: the member who takes out the subscription and whose payment method is charged.
- Content: any data entered or uploaded to the Service (schedule, requests, messages, expenses, receipts, documents, notes…).
- Professional partner: a practice or service established in Switzerland and admitted under section 16.
3. Acceptance, versions and evidence
To create a household or join one by invitation, each user expressly accepts these Terms and the privacy policy by ticking the box provided. We record the accepted version, the date, the IP address and the browser used.
Each version has a number and an effective date. Previous versions are archived and available on request.
4. Nature and limits of the Service
CoParent lets separated parents plan custody, propose and approve changes, exchange messages, share expenses and documents about their children, and generate reports.
CoParent is an organisation and calculation tool. It is not a party to the relationship between the parents, does not settle any disagreement and does not verify the accuracy of the information entered. It does not replace a court decision, an agreement, a decision of an authority (court, child protection authority) or the advice of a lawyer, mediator, doctor or accountant. In case of discrepancy, the applicable decision or agreement prevails over the schedule recorded in CoParent.
Calculation results (custody split, expense balances, amounts left to pay) depend on the rules and split keys configured by household members. It is up to them to check that these match their obligations.
School calendars and public holidays are taken from public sources; they may contain errors or change. Check important dates with the school authority.
5. PDF reports, exports and evidential value
PDF reports and exports (CSV, ZIP) reproduce the data as recorded in the Service when they are generated, i.e. as entered or approved by household members. They are dated when generated.
They are not official documents: they are not issued, certified or verified by any authority or by CoParent, and they do not carry an electronic signature within the meaning of the law. Their evidential value is freely assessed, depending on the context, by the person or authority to whom you submit them. CoParent does not guarantee that a report will be accepted or that it will suffice to establish a fact.
6. Expenses module and QR-bill
The Expenses module calculates the balance between the parents from the approved expenses and the split keys. It can generate a Swiss QR-bill for that balance. The payee shown is the parent who is owed the money, with the IBAN and address that parent has entered.
Payment is made directly between the parents’ bank accounts. CoParent does not receive, hold or transfer any funds, does not act as a financial intermediary and does not check whether a payment has been made. A parent who enters an IBAN warrants that they hold the account or are authorised to use it.
7. Artificial intelligence features
Two optional features use an artificial intelligence model operated in Switzerland by Infomaniak Network SA (see the list of sub-processors). They only run when you trigger them; manual entry is always available and sends nothing to the provider.
a) Receipt analysis (Expenses module). When you choose assisted entry, the uploaded receipt (image or PDF), the children’s first names and the names of the household’s expense categories are sent to the provider. The result is a suggestion (amount, date, child, category, label) that you check and correct before saving the expense. The number of analyses may be limited.
b) Reading an agreement or a court decision (agenda setup). When you import this document, or type your rules as free text, to prepare the custody rules, the PDF (converted into page images where necessary) or your text, together with the first names of household members, is sent to the provider. The result is a suggested set of rules, displayed for review: nothing is applied to the agenda without your confirmation. CoParent does not keep the imported file.
An AI model may misread a document, miss a clause or suggest a wrong value. You remain responsible for checking each suggestion and for ensuring that the schedule complies with the applicable decision or agreement. These features provide no legal interpretation and take no decision on your behalf.
8. Accounts, roles and rights of household members
The Service is reserved for adults. Everyone provides accurate information, keeps their credentials safe and tells us without delay about any unauthorised use of their account. Each role has the following rights:
- Invite: an owner invites co-parents (three at most) and read-only guests, and can resend or revoke a pending invitation. Other members cannot invite.
- Remove a member: an owner can remove a member who is not an owner; that member’s account is then deactivated. No member can remove an owner.
- Subscription, add-ons and cancellation: an owner, from Subscription. Only an owner can subscribe, subject to the payer designated by a professional partner (section 16). Changing the payer or the owner is not self-service: it is done on request of both parents concerned, sent to support.
- Export: an owner downloads the full household export from Settings › Privacy, including when the household is blocked or suspended. A co-parent can obtain, on request to privacy@coparent.ch, a copy of the household data they can access in the Service, within 30 days.
- Delete the household: an owner, after confirming with their password and typing the household name. Only that owner can then ask for the deletion to be cancelled.
Deleting a household affects shared data. For this reason: all members are informed by email as soon as deletion is requested, with the erasure date; no data is erased before 30 days; during that period, any parent member can obtain from support a copy of the household data they had access to, and the owner who requested the deletion can have it cancelled. Access to the household is closed for all members as soon as deletion is requested.
Deleting an individual account: a member can ask for their account to be deleted by writing to privacy@coparent.ch. We delete or anonymise their account data within 30 days. The content they shared in the household (requests, messages, expenses, documents) is part of the shared history; it remains accessible to the other members as long as the household exists, unless the law requires its erasure. If they are the only owner, we handle the request together with the other members (transfer of ownership or deletion of the household). When an owner removes a member, that member’s account is deactivated without erasing such content.
9. Disagreements, court decisions and safety risks
CoParent remains neutral: we do not take sides in a disagreement between parents and do not arbitrate any dispute about custody, an expense or a document.
If a member informs us, with supporting documents, of a decision by a court or authority that restricts contact or the exchange of information between the parents, or of a risk to someone’s safety (threats, violence), we may take proportionate interim measures: temporarily suspending access, revoking agenda sharing links, freezing a deletion, or handing a copy of the data to the person concerned. We inform the person targeted of the measure and the reasons for it, unless the law prohibits this or doing so would create a risk. In case of immediate danger, call the police (117).
If the parents disagree on keeping the household, on the payer or on deletion, we apply section 8. We never give a member data they cannot access in the Service.
10. Free trial
A newly created household gets a 14-day free trial, with no credit card, of the CoParent Agenda base plan (agenda, change requests, communication, notifications and the related reports). The Expenses and Documents add-ons are not included: to try them during the trial, take out the subscription with these add-ons. Nothing is charged before the end of the trial, and cancelling before that date results in no charge.
Reminders are sent to owners 7, 3 and 1 day(s) before the trial ends. Households created by a professional partner benefit from the offer described in section 16.
11. Prices, subscription and payment
One subscription covers a household and all its members; the co-parent pays nothing. Prices are in Swiss francs: CoParent Agenda, CHF 8.- per month or CHF 80.- per year; Expenses and Documents add-ons, CHF 2.- per month or CHF 20.- per year each. The provider is not registered for VAT; no VAT is charged.
Payment is made by card or TWINT through Stripe, which processes the payment data; CoParent does not store it. The first charge is made when you subscribe or, if you subscribe during the free trial, at the end of the trial. The subscription then renews automatically for the same term (one month or one year), and the price is charged at the start of each period. The next charge date is shown under Subscription.
An owner can add an add-on at any time: it is available immediately and charged pro rata for the current period. Removing an add-on takes effect immediately, with no refund for the current period; the module’s data is kept and becomes accessible again if the add-on is reactivated. Switching from monthly to annual payment, or vice versa, is done on request to support. Promotion codes may be offered; they are governed by their own terms.
12. Cancellation, failed payment and price changes
Cancellation. An owner can cancel the subscription at any time from Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period or, during the free trial, at the end of the trial; the current period is not refunded. Until that date, all features remain active and the subscription can be reactivated. After that, the household is blocked, and its data is then erased as set out in section 13, unless a new subscription is taken out.
Failed payment. If a charge fails, the household is marked as suspended. The Service remains usable for 5 days. After that and until payment is settled, only Subscription, Settings › Privacy (export and deletion) and support remain accessible. Stripe may retry the charge; if payment is not settled, the subscription may be cancelled, with the effects described in section 13. No data is erased because of a failed payment.
Price changes. Any price increase for a running subscription is announced to the payer by email at least 30 days before it applies. It applies from the first renewal after that notice period. The payer may cancel free of charge before it applies; otherwise, the new price applies.
13. Household and data lifecycle
The table below summarises each situation. “Export” means the ZIP archive of all household data, which an owner downloads from Settings › Privacy.
| Situation | Access | Export | Notifications | Data erasure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial ends without a subscription | From the end of the trial, the household is blocked: the modules are closed. The dashboard, household and account settings, Subscription and support remain accessible. Subscribing unlocks everything immediately. | Yes, until erasure. | Reminders 7, 3 and 1 day(s) before the trial ends; “account blocked” email; reminders 60 and 30 days before erasure. | Permanent erasure 90 days after the end of the trial, unless a subscription is taken out in the meantime. |
| Subscription cancelled | All features remain active until the end of the paid period (or of the trial). After that, the household is blocked as at the end of a trial: the dashboard, settings, Subscription and support remain accessible. A new subscription unlocks everything, with all the data. | Yes, until erasure. | End date shown under Subscription; “household blocked” email when the subscription ends; reminders 60 and 30 days before erasure. | Permanent erasure 90 days after the subscription ends, unless a new subscription is taken out in the meantime. |
| Failed payment | Service usable for 5 days, then limited to Subscription, Privacy (export, deletion) and support until payment is settled. | Yes. | Message in the app; where applicable, emails from Stripe. | No erasure because of the failed payment. If the subscription is cancelled, see “Subscription cancelled”. |
| Household deletion, requested by an owner | Closed immediately for all members. The subscription stops the same day. | No longer self-service; on request to support, for any parent member, until erasure. | Email to all members with the erasure date, then a confirmation email after erasure. | Permanent erasure 30 days after the request. The owner who requested it can have it cancelled through support before that date. |
| Deletion of an individual account | The account can no longer sign in. | On request, a copy of the data the member had access to. | Reply to the request by email. | Account data deleted or anonymised within 30 days; shared content kept in the household (section 8). |
Backups. The database is backed up every night; backups are encrypted and stored in Switzerland on Infomaniak’s Swiss Backup service. Each backup is kept for 30 days at most: erased data may therefore remain in a backup for up to 30 days, and then disappears as backups rotate. Backups are only used to restore the Service after an incident.
A professional partner’s mandate does not change any of these periods; it ends with the household.
14. Content: obligations, prohibited uses and reporting
Only upload content that you are entitled to use and to share with the household members, and only what is useful for organising the children’s lives. For documents that contain health data, information on judicial or administrative proceedings, or data about third parties (children, a new partner, teachers, doctors…), make sure that sharing them with the other parent is lawful and complies with the decisions and confidentiality obligations that apply to you.
The following are prohibited in particular: threatening, insulting or harassing statements; unlawful content; using the Service to monitor a person or to collect data unrelated to co-parenting; deliberately entering false information, in particular in order to submit it to an authority; any attempt to access another member’s account or another household’s data; sending malware, automated data extraction and any attack on the security of the Service.
Reporting. Content or behaviour that breaches these rules can be reported to contact@coparent.ch or through support. We review every report, may ask the person concerned for an explanation and, depending on the seriousness, take a proportionate measure: a warning, hiding or removing manifestly unlawful content, temporarily suspending an account or, for serious or repeated breaches, closing the account. Unless there is an emergency or a legal prohibition, the person concerned is informed of the measure and the reasons for it, and may respond. Closing an account does not delete the shared household data to which the other parent is entitled.
15. Technical licence and intellectual property
You remain the owner of your content. For as long as it is kept in the Service only, you grant the provider a free, non-exclusive licence to host it, back it up, reproduce it technically, display it to the members and people you have authorised, pass it on to its sub-processors to the extent necessary (including the AI provider when you trigger an analysis) and include it in the reports and exports requested by a household member. This licence permits no other use, in particular no resale, no advertising and no training of AI models. It ends when the content is erased, subject to backups (section 13).
The Service, its code, texts and trademarks remain the provider’s property. You receive a personal, non-transferable right of use for the term of the contract.
16. Professional partners
CoParent offers a professional partner status for family mediators, lawyers, child protection guardians (APEA/KESB) and social services. This status is free of charge and is only granted after the provider has manually reviewed the application; the provider remains free to grant or refuse it without giving reasons.
Only professionals established in Switzerland are eligible: entry in the Swiss commercial register, in a cantonal bar, with the SDM/FSM, or affiliation with a Swiss public service. A practice established outside Switzerland is not eligible, whatever its clientele.
Offer for accompanied households. A household created by an admitted partner from their workspace gets a 90-day free trial, running from its creation, with the CoParent Agenda base plan and the Expenses and Documents add-ons enabled. There is no price discount. The parent designated as payer by the partner is asked to register a payment method when accepting their invitation; nothing is charged during the trial. At the end of the trial, the subscription continues at the public monthly price of the base plan and both add-ons (CHF 12.- per month), unless cancelled before that date. Without a registered payment method, the household is blocked at the end of the trial (section 13). While the mandate is active, the Expenses and Documents add-ons cannot be removed; the subscription can still be cancelled at any time.
This benefit is reserved for families that the partner actually accompanies. It is tied to the professional account, personal and non-transferable: it may not be passed on, resold or used for households the partner does not accompany.
Parents’ consent. The partner informs both parents before creating the household, provides accurate contact details and respects professional secrecy. Before any consent, the partner only sees the information they entered themselves (household name, the parents’ first names and email addresses, designated payer) and the follow-up status (invitations sent or accepted, trial, subscription status). Access to the household content — schedule, change requests, reports, documents and expenses, never the messages between parents — requires the consent of each parent, given when accepting their invitation; the refusal of a single parent closes access. This access is read-only and logged.
Revocation and end of the mandate. Each parent can, alone and at any time, withdraw the partner’s access from their account. The partner can end the mandate from their workspace; the household then continues without them, with its data and subscription, and the add-ons can be changed again. The partner can never delete a household, even one they created.
Any abuse leads to the closure of the professional account, the immediate blocking of new household creation and the termination of ongoing mandates, without compensation or refund. Abuse includes in particular: creating fictitious households, opening households for families the partner does not accompany, reselling or sharing the benefit, and any false statement of professional status. Households already created keep their accounts, data and conditions: the sanction applies only to the partner.
17. Availability, maintenance, support and discontinuation
We do our best to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee any availability rate. The Service may be interrupted, in particular for maintenance, in the event of an outage at a provider (hosting, payment, SMS, AI), an attack or force majeure.
Scheduled maintenance likely to interrupt the Service noticeably is announced, where possible 48 hours in advance, in the app or by email. Urgent interventions (security, incidents) may take place without notice.
Support. By email at contact@coparent.ch or from within the app, in French, German, Italian or English. We aim to send a first reply within 24 business hours (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays); this is a target, not a guarantee.
Discontinuation. If we were to stop operating the Service, we would inform members by email at least 60 days in advance. No subscription would be renewed after that announcement, and exports would remain possible until the Service closes.
18. Liability
The provider is liable for damage caused by a breach of its contractual obligations, within the limits below. These limits do not apply in the event of intent or gross negligence, in the event of injury to life, body or health, or where the law prohibits any limitation (in particular art. 100 of the Swiss Code of Obligations and mandatory consumer protection rules).
In the event of slight negligence, the provider’s liability is limited to direct damage and, per household and per calendar year, to the higher of the following two amounts: the total paid for the household during the 12 months before the event causing the damage, or CHF 100.-. This cap also applies during the free trial and after cancellation.
Subject to paragraph 1, the provider is not liable for the accuracy of content entered by members, for decisions taken by a user, a third party or an authority on the basis of a report, a calculation or an AI suggestion, for payments between parents, or for interruptions caused by providers or networks outside its control.
CoParent is not a legal archiving service: keep your own copies of important documents.
19. Residence in Switzerland and no right of withdrawal
The Service is offered to people living in Switzerland (section 1). Swiss law does not provide a right of withdrawal for contracts concluded online. The free trial lets you test the Service before any payment, and the subscription can be cancelled at any time for the end of the current period (section 12). These Terms do not remove any right granted to you by mandatory rules.
20. Term of the contract and termination by the provider
The contract is concluded for an indefinite period. Each user can end it by asking for their account to be deleted or, if they are an owner, the household (section 8). The provider may terminate it with immediate effect in the event of a serious breach (section 14) and, otherwise, under the conditions of section 17 (discontinuation).
21. Changes to the Terms
We may change these Terms, in particular to reflect changes to the Service or to the law. Minor changes (wording, clarifications with no effect on your rights) take effect when published.
Substantial changes — in particular those that restrict your rights, extend your obligations or change prices — are presented to you from the moment they are published, the next time you sign in, with an explicit choice to accept or reject them. A refusal at this stage is recorded but has no effect: you continue to use the Service normally until the effective date. On that date, if you have not accepted, this choice becomes mandatory to keep using the Service. If you then refuse: an owner is offered the option to cancel the subscription and delete the household, under the conditions of section 8 (free of charge, with no refund for the current period); another member has their access to that household suspended until they accept, with the owner informed. You may change your mind and accept at any time. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it expressly.
22. Data protection
The processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy and in the list of sub-processors.
23. Governing law, jurisdiction and mediation
These Terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions.
For disputes with a consumer, jurisdiction is determined by law: the consumer may bring proceedings at their place of residence or at the provider’s registered address, and the provider brings proceedings at the consumer’s place of residence. For other users, in particular professional partners, the place of jurisdiction is Pampigny (canton of Vaud), subject to mandatory places of jurisdiction.
Either party may propose mediation before going to court. Mediation is optional: it is not a precondition for bringing proceedings and does not suspend any time limit, unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
